A MONTH OF THANKSGIVING

As the year come to an end, it is time for thanksgiving!

Plentiful of Contacts

I am thankful for the many clients referred by parents, ex-colleagues and friends. The referrals are affirmations that the work I do is not too bad. I am also thankful for connections to do work overseas so that my knowledge and experiences may be shared and more children can receive the support they need.

Visiting New World Therapeutic Centre for Special Needs Children, Yangon, Myanmar.

Best Reconnection

I am thankful for reconnecting with a group of ex-colleagues from NUH, where I had worked as a therapist assistant in 2002. We have not met up since 2008? They are a reminder of how I started my journey as a Speech Therapist. I am thankful to them for being there during the crossroad of my life and hearing me out during our many lunches together. Their passion and love for the people they work with showed me what the profession is all about.

I am not Alone

I know I am not alone despite working alone most of the time. I am so touched by many of my ex-colleagues who kept me in mind when they have good 'lobangs'.

Like Aiying, an ex-colleague from Rainbow Centre, who shared about the toothbrush by Health Promotion Board.

Like Shruti who informed me about the sales at Knowledge Tree Resources. Murthy, my trusty mentor, who is always a text away when I needed professional advice.

Like Binu who remembered me when a child was needed for demonstration in one of the Oral Placement Therapy workshops.

Cheerleading Teams

When the going gets tough, I will never forget the fun and laughter from my ardent supporters, my secondary school friends! They lighten every obstacle that come my way - they literally 'make a joke' out of every difficulty I face in my Summer's journey. 'Laughter is the best medicine' indeed.

They do give very sound and concrete help, advice and contacts too!

And of course, I will not forget to mention the two sisters who have been celebrating my accomplishments and who prayed for me in face of difficulties.

And last but not least, my family who always stand by me as I pursue my dreams.

I look forward to 2017 and is very excited about what is to come.

Hereby wishing everyone a blessed Christmas and a wonderful 2017!
